I am cutting my losses, bypassing Thanksgiving, and heading straight for Christmas.

My kids are still playing with that GROSS dead bird, and I consider this a major parenting FAIL on the part of my husband, who knows the bird is out there AND also has knowledge of his children's infatuation with it.  And me no-touchey dead birds.

Anyhoo.

I am all kinds of fired up for Christmas, and as a result, I set about sewing G's Christmas dress this weekend.  I have plans for L to have a matching replica, which has a 35% chance of actually getting done.  Being that I lose focus quickly, you see.

In any case.  I didn't want anything *complicated*, so I went with the standard pillowcase dress.  Only I made it out of fancy fabric--shantung and dull satin--just to dress it up a little bit.  I lined the inside with a purple polka-dotted cotton, and made the shoulder ties out of the same material, because I was concerned that the satin wouldn't hold a bow very well.  Plus, I'm a big fan of polka dots.  Don't know if you knew that about me.

Ta-da!

My original thought was white t-shirt and tights underneath...but I'm thinking that some sassy red and white polka dotted tights might be freaky awesome.  Or scary-mismatched-like-I-downed-6-beers-before-dressing-in-the-dark.  I won't know until I see it together.

Yup, it's a fine line between looking whimsical or intoxicated.

What's on your to-do list for Christmas????
